Suggestion for the nesting site fossil dig:
Since the skeletons are small they can be placed into large plastic eggs and arranged as in a nest. Place them in a circle and cover with sand or sunflower
seeds, millet, corn kernels or popcorn. (The last items can be recycled as bird feed after the dig.) When ready for the dig slowly and gently uncover
the eggs with spoons, toothbrushes or small paint brushes. Once uncovered open egg and assemble pieces by laying directly on skeleton picture. When
assembled draw around skeleton depicting the animal's skin and compare your outline with outline on back of paper. Then fill in skin using crayons,
markers, paints or colored pencils. Since no one knows what color they were use your imagination.
